Following a severe earthquake in Myanmar on 28 March 2025, India’s humanitarian relief and rescue response was dubbed Operation Brahma. India responded swiftly as a first responder by deploying search and rescue teams, medical help, emergency supplies, and disaster relief material to the afflicted areas after the earthquake, which had a magnitude of about 7.7, caused extensive destruction and fatalities.
In order to support search and rescue efforts and provide crucial humanitarian aid, India sent National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel, planes, and naval resources under Operation Brahma.
