The services sector is the largest contributor to Pakistan’s GDP, accounting for approximately 58.6% of the total. This sector includes industries such as banking, telecommunications, trade, transport, education, health, and information technology. Its dominance reflects Pakistan’s gradual shift from an agriculture-based economy toward a service-oriented one.
While the agriculture and industrial sectors remain important for employment and production, the services sector drives economic growth, generates revenue, and attracts foreign investment. The expansion of digital services, financial services, and retail has particularly boosted its share in the national economy.
