The government of India has an ambitious plan called “Viksit Bharat 2047” that aims to make India a fully developed nation by 2047, the year that marks the country’s 100th anniversary of independence. With a projected GDP of over $30 trillion and per capita income of more than $18,000, the effort aims to elevate India to the position of a developed nation through comprehensive economic, social, technological, and infrastructure goals.

The central and state governments formulate policies based on this long-term national vision, and during the 2020s and 2030s, sectoral roadmaps and distinct milestones are put into action. In order to put India’s developmental trajectory on a global scale, Viksit Bharat 2047 is a uniting national goal that mobilizes efforts from both the public and private sectors.
