According to the Global Food Security Index (GFSI) released in March 2026, Switzerland topped the global rankings as the most food-secure country in the world.
Switzerland scored an impressive 83.7 points out of a possible 100 in the 2026 index. This high score reflects the nation’s exceptional performance across all key dimensions of food security, including food affordability, physical availability, quality, safety, and sustainability.
Ireland and Finland followed closely in second and third positions. Rounding out the top five are France and the Netherlands.
