The Mumbai Indians (MI) were regarded as the most valuable IPL franchise with a brand worth of $108 million, followed by RCB at $105 million, according to a Brand Finance analysis published in December 2025 (based on 2025 data). MI ranked first with $108 million in a subsequent Brand Finance report from March 2026.

However, two significant franchise transactions that occurred in March 2026 fundamentally altered the financial environment:

A group headed by the Aditya Birla Group purchased Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for $1.78 billion, or around ₹16,700 crore.

The brand valuations previously stated are significantly lower than these real sale values. RCB is currently regarded as the most valuable IPL franchise in terms of actual market valuation as a result of these record-breaking sale prices.
