Explanation about National Science Day

National Science Day is celebrated every year in India on 28 February to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman in 1928. The Government of India first observed National Science Day in 1987 to promote scientific thinking and encourage interest in science and technology. Schools, colleges, universities, and research institutions organize exhibitions, seminars, quizzes, and science fairs to spread awareness about the importance of scientific research and innovation. The day also recognizes the contributions of Indian scientists to national development.
